Rebecca and I joined up with some friends for an Arizona camping experience. Our buddy Rob, who works for Dollar rent a car, hooked us up with an '07 Jeep Wrangler...great ride with the top down. We went Northwest of the Valley to Lake Pleasant, which is one of the more accessible man made lakes in the area. Most may think that I am not the camping type but with a queen size air mattress in tow we had an awesome time.

The 5th Annual Kokopelli Krush! Chris and I, or should I say "Team Testa" competed against 100 couples in a 2 minute "krush off" to see who could produce the most juice from 8 lbs. of grapes. The competition was stiff and the atmosphere was charged, on the line was a 4 day paid cruise (to where, well we didn't care to check). There were 3 heats and the winner from each heat went on to the final crush. Our heat included 40 couples. We ended up coming in 2nd place winning a $50 gift card to the Kokopelli Bistro and 6 bottles of wine. All in all a fabulous Saturday night.

After our hike at Saguaro Lake we sat outside at little italian restuarant and watched the fountain go off in Fountain Hills. The fountain spouts every hour on the hour for about 10 minutes and reaches, we are guessing here from memory, around 300 feet.

Last weekend Chris and I hiked/rock climbed Papago Park which is located in the heart of Phoenix. If you look closely at the picture of Chris you will see planes landing in the background.

Saguaro Lake, located just East of Foundain Hills, is actually the 1st lake we have visited in Phoenix. So beautiful to have the mountains with water. Wishing we had a boat and the family for a tube ride.

On a whim Chris and I drove up to the Mogollian Rim after church on Sunday and had a wonderful adventure. The Rim is located just NE of Phoenix and seperates the valley from the Colorado Mountains. The views are amazing. Big Bonus of the day...Chris saw his Elk!

The trail led us between these two mountains.

As you can see hiking in AZ during the summer is a total experiance, Chris is attempting to keep himself cool...like that is possible! Posted by Picasa
