Braving the Elements:
This past week, as most of you know, we received quit a bit of snow that made most of us home bound and if you live near us then certainly in a position to dig yourself out.

While we were home we noticed our neighbor sitting out on her porch - a bit odd since it was around 20 degrees and definitely not porch weather. As we took a closer look (did I mention we were home bound and BORED) we noticed something even more peculiar...

yep thats right - front porch, indian style, no shoes, laptop and her trusty friend. I guess she really needed a break.

The Look of Satisfaction:
While we were at Grandma's the other day Shayden decided to explode out of his diaper...as I was stripping him of all his clothing and attempting to plug the contents of his diaper (notice wet wipe sticking out of diaper) I decided to record the scene and realized when I got home the look my little man was giving me as I snapped the picture - pure satisfaction!
What a little stinker!

While the snow was falling this week and we were all feeling a little home bound Shayden decided to have a rather tough day...this equaled a night of waking up at 2am, 5am and not going back to sleep at all until 8:50am (which only lasted 45 minutes). So after a tough night and a rough morning he was in rare form...so tired and not quite sure what to do with himself, which also meant Chris and I weren't quite sure what to do with him either. After exhausting all entertainment options and once again only taking a 1 hour nap in the afternoon Chris decided it was Jerry Springer time! He rolled out the swing, turned on the TV and commenced in Jerry Springer Baby Entertainment. I should mention that we don't have cable and barely get the one station you see there, but I wasn't complaining it afforded me 15 minutes of bliss.

Listen up Ladies

Ever had one of those days where you just needed a break? Maybe a few moments away to grab a cup of coffee, read a book or just take a shower? Well I have a fix for you - grab a soft blanket and spread it on the floor...then find a colorful book (think pictures and big words)...now be careful with this next step it takes some practice...place baby on floor and suggest hubby should read to baby.

TA DA...you have success!!!

(please note: actors were not used in this scene, this is a real picture in a real life situation)

We be rollin...

Well almost anyway...Shayden is throwing his legs up and over just trying to get that first roll over. Today in his crib (he was on his back) he threw them over and hit his bumper which knocked him back - but I think if it had not been there he would have made it - "He's so Bright"!!!*
*
(*Chris and I have decided we are going to be "those parents" that tell everyone how "bright" their child is, no matter what he does and no matter how special/insignificant/etc the action might be)
Come on, you know you have met them or wait maybe you are one of them...you know the parents who tell you that their child waved at them when he/she was 3 days old "I'm serious, he did, he is just so bright!" Get ready folks we are in to win..because come on, he is just so bright - look at that face, he is literally speaking to you through this blog right now, he is just so bright!
